This Privacy page explains what Mars Commons processes when you use the service. It is written for clarity, not as legal advice or a guarantee of any particular certification.
Who operates Mars Commons
Mars Commons is independently operated. For privacy questions, deletion requests, safety reports, copyright complaints and moderation appeals, contact [email protected].
Mars Commons is not endorsed by X, xAI, SpaceX, Vercel or Cloudflare.
Information we may process
- X identity (if you sign in): X user identifier and public X handle when you choose Sign in with X.
- Authentication session: an encrypted session token stored in your browser so you can stay signed in. Sessions expire and can be cleared by signing out or when they become invalid.
- Creative content: artwork strokes, artwork title, creator attribution, sector and wall placement, and direct artwork-link identifiers used for sharing and discovery.
- Safety signals: reports, moderation actions and deletion requests you submit.
- Essential browser storage: authentication state, policy acknowledgements and local app settings needed for the product to function.
- Technical hosting logs: ordinary infrastructure logs that may include IP address, browser or device characteristics, timestamps and request metadata used to deliver and secure the service.
What we do not receive from X
Mars Commons never receives your X password. The current X integration does not request email address, posts, direct messages, followers or private profile information.
How information is used
We process information to operate the shared art world: authenticate creators, display public Signals and artwork, enable sharing via direct links, enforce community standards, respond to safety and copyright requests, secure the service and fix errors.
The operator of Mars Commons does not sell user data.
Public nature of artwork
Artwork you publish and its creator handle are public within Mars Commons. Public artwork may be accessed through direct share links. Do not publish material you do not want others to see.
Infrastructure providers
Delivering Mars Commons involves third-party infrastructure. Depending on the deployment path, categories of providers may include:
- xAI / Grok publishing infrastructure for hosted app delivery
- Vercel, where applicable to the published web application
- Cloudflare authentication infrastructure used for X sign-in
- X authentication for identity verification
These providers process technical information as needed to host, authenticate, route and secure traffic. We do not claim that hosting providers collect nothing or never log requests.
Analytics and advertising
Mars Commons currently uses only essential authentication and application storage. It does not add optional advertising, marketing pixels or third-party analytics trackers as part of the product experience described here.
Retention and deletion
Authentication sessions expire. Local browser storage can be cleared by you. Published artwork may remain available while the service operates, but content and availability are not guaranteed permanently.
You may request deletion of account-linked data or published material by writing to [email protected]. We may retain limited records where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal obligations or dispute handling.
Age
Mars Commons is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact [email protected].
